However, on one of the “point” spots next to me is a very nice lady, and while we don’t work together but rather seat near each other, I hear everything that goes on at her desk. Business and non business things. Like her call to her husband about her daughter who refuses to study on her iPad. Or her conference calls where she’s presenting for three hours. Or when she has other managers come over to her desk AND do a conference call on SPEAKER!

I have not said anything to her. I believe my manager has in the past, but his response is she’s just doing her job. Which is to lead meetings and conference calls, etc. I get that. But if it distracts me all day long, and interrupts my productivity, along with my fellow processors, it becomes partly our problem. I try to put my headphones on and listen to music or Netflix. And sometimes that works just fine. But on the days it doesn’t, it just makes my day drag on and on. I feel like I could help present at her meetings because I hear so much of it.

I’m sure there are times she can hear us laughing and talking. We try to be respectful. When she picks up the phone or has people at her desk, we all “duck and cover” with our headphones so it shouldn’t interrupt her very much, if at all.

We aren’t friends, so I don’t really feel comfortable going “Hey, nice lady, would you mind doing your job somewhere else?” That really wouldn’t work. She is just doing her job.

Long term solution is we are moving buildings in the spring. The group she works for will be sitting by themselves instead of spread out among other groups, so great. They can annoy each other.

Short term though, I am just not sure.

And not just because he’s the father of my wonderful two year old.

In a single day, he was able to:

• Pack my lunch
• Drop me off at work (so he could have our vehicle)
• Replace the starter of my dad’s van while it sat in the church’s parking lot (brought his tools with him)
• Had lunch with my mom, sisters, and our son
• Studied for classes while the boy took a nap at G’mas house
• Cooked our dinner
• Entertained, fed, bathed, and got our boy into bed
• Organized and cut up all ingredients for the make ahead meal for our lunches this week so I could cook it
• Did dishes and laundry
• Set the coffee pot to brew this morning!
• Enjoyed some TV time with me

Does he rock or what? I love my husband and I’m proud of what he can get done for his family.

We had a good weekend in our house. The boy slept well for naps and at night. He does come in practically yelling for “Choc Milk!” (aka chocolate milk). Not sure why he has to announce his arrival loudly with a demand for chocolately milk, but he does. We went coupon shopping at Kroger Saturday morning as a family. Ryan and Ryry took the kiddie cart and would go get a few things off the list at at time. Well, they did at least twice and then the boy wanted to stay near Mom. So we consolidated carts and went on our merry way. The total was about $180 but with the shopper’s card, sales, and coupons, I got it down to about $75. Not bad.

Saturday evening was a joint birthday party at my mom’s house for two of my sisters. Just a family affair mostly, but ~R~ had a few friends from church spend the night. My uncle from Florida was also in town so he was able to join us as well. I made spaghetti and garlic bread, plus cupcakes for the birthday girls. All in all, it was a hit. We had some stress with a certain grandparent, but that is par for the course lately.

Sunday was coupon cutting and checking out sales ads for gift ideas and pricing toys for the kids in our lives. I also napped with the boy which was nice, though I missed most of the Bengals game. Then the three of us walked up to the local Kroger with the boy in his stroller for a few pieces of meat for meals this week. Everything else is already in our pantry thanks to recent stock piling/coupon trips! Then I made wings and fries in our deep fryer with a teriyaki and hot sauce/BBQ mix. Good stuff.

Is it Friday yet? LOL

Really…a federally mandated fee that vendors who sell over 500 trees cannot avoid paying?

Sounds like a tax to me.

And does the christmas tree industry really need promoting or to have their benefits maximized?

My mother had to spend several weeks in a hospital. Neither of us have asthma or other breathing issues, but the smell was so strong coming off two particular nurses and another patient sharing a room with her at one point, we asked for a different nurse and finally got a private room. It was horrible!

You are supposed to be there to heal, to get better, hopefully. The nasty smell of cigarettes, just like body odor, is just uncalled for. No one should be forced to endure a noticeable bad smell, no matter the reason. And in this case, it is the person’s choice.

Really..avoid white paper..tell your students your favorite color is black or brown for positive associations..dress fairies in darker tones, not pastels.
